Reporting to the Vice President of Academic & Student Programs, the Dean is an innovative, collaborative, and strategic leader with a deep understanding of both the opportunities and challenges that are emerging in the evolving teaching and learning landscape of continuing education. This position is a leadership role with overall responsibility for the development, management, implementation, and growth of Continuing Education. The job requires oversite of current offering including seminars and online courses as well as review and development of new course offerings, and review and revision of business processes to align with the university strategic plan. The person who fills this position is an experienced and collaborative higher education leader with an entrepreneurial approach and enthusiasm for innovation that aligns with the university's strategic plan.
Master's Degree or equivalent work experience in the areas of instructional technology, instructional design, information technology, higher education administration
Doctoral of professional degree preferred
5+ years of progressive, professional experience
3-5+ years of management experience
Background in, or knowledge of, health care and clinical inter-professional education a plus
Technical knowledge of online content and course development
Strategic planning with proven outcomes
Proven leadership and managerial skills
Demonstrated dynamic and creative problem-solving approach
Good change leader to help develop cross-departmental team and flexible problem-solving skills.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team and cross departmental team collaboratively.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Understands and can apply principles of administration, time management and productivity.
Strong organizational skills and can effectively handles multiple projects at one time with good project management tools and skills.
Ability to work effectively in a consultative, decision-making culture.
Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues at all levels in the University.
