The Women’s Center is a Displaced Homemakers program. As a member of The Women’s Center team, assists participants in creating realistic and attainable employment goals that will lead to financial independence. Meets with participants one-on-one to guide them in identifying their individual strengths, skills and career interests using a wide range of methods, such as career assessments, interviews, and career exploratory materials. Administers and interprets career interest and inventories. Assists participant in developing short and long-term employment goals and provides guidance on related training and continuing education needs to attain goals. Assists participant in identifying resources for training. Provides emotional support to participants in overcoming challenges and obstacles and makes additional referrals as appropriate.
Knowledge of MBTI, CDM, RIASEC Inventory, and other search tools and interpretation. Proficient in MS Office, Google Docs, social media platforms, virtual platforms, ability to learn propriety software programs. Knowledgeable about Morris County social resources, excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to build rapport and communicate effectively with people of diverse backgrounds and needs. Compassionate, dependable, self-directed, flexible, organized, able to act with independent judgment. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment and be able work flexible hours as needed to meet participant and program needs.

At least 3-5 years career counseling experience in a similar environment; administration and interpretation of career and interest inventories; goal setting with individuals; case management; group facilitation.
A Masters Degree in Counseling or related field, LPC/LSW preferred but not required.
