The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) invites applications for a part-time (up to 50%) annually renewable, contract faculty position in veterinary clinical pathology. We will consider two individuals splitting this time as well. The appointment will be offered at a clinical-track assistant, associate or full professor level, dependent on the individual’s interests and qualifications. The successful candidate or candidates will join four other clinical pathologists and two clinical pathology residents. The candidate or candidates will provide primarily diagnostic services along with a small amount of teaching.
Duties: Primary duties will include training of clinical pathology residents and provision of exceptional customer-oriented clinical service in the veterinary medical center (VMC) clinical pathology laboratory, including evaluation of cytologic, hematologic, and clinical chemistry samples and other laboratory-associated data. Teaching will, at a minimum, include contributions to the core second year clinical pathology courses.

Salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. The CVM also allows for pet permits to be purchased which will allow you to bring your pet to work and have the option to enroll in a pet wellness program through the Veterinary Medical Center.
Requirements: DVM/VMD or equivalent veterinary degree and evidence of outstanding clinical and teaching skills. Certification by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists (ACVP) is preferred, however individuals who are residency trained in clinical pathology and board eligible are also invited to apply.
