The Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance Associate in the Office for Equity and Diversity (OED) provides compliance assistance, support, and training on topics including but not limited to equal opportunity, Title IX, student safety, and University policies and procedures. The Equal Opportunity and Title IX Compliance Associate will support compliance through the development of initiatives, coordinating training and programming, and manage communications across campus and with institutional partners related to compliance with federal and state regulations and University policies directly related to student and employee safety and support. The position will have a dotted line to the Associate Provost for Equity and Diversity for certain responsibilities including, but not limited to: audits, compliance reviews, and interpreting state and federal laws and regulations. Create mechanisms for ensuring and documenting compliance with equal opportunity and Title IX policies and regulations including current practices and procedures and identifying best practices for enhanced compliance.
Develop and assist with implementing an institution-wide comprehensive education and training initiatives on equal opportunity and Title IX for employees and students.
Interpret federal and state equal opportunity and Title IX laws and regulations and advise how they impact the university including students, faculty, and staff populations.
Initiate and coordinate compliance reviews involving multiple departments within the institution to ensure compliance with federal and state equal opportunity and Title IX laws and regulations.
Collaborate with institutional partners on issues related to equity, equal opportunity, climate, and Title IX to assist with programming and education on these topics.
Audit current institutional policies, procedures, and practices for any potential gaps in compliance and recommend required and advised changes.
Identify relevant equal opportunity data and use the applicable data to inform institutional climate improvements and recommended changes.
Provide student and employee support through compliance with policies, regulations, and procedures including direct interaction with students and employees.
Design and deliver programming and training related equal opportunity, Title IX, campus climate and safety, and other university policies, regulations, and procedures.
Develop proposals and recommendations for institutional policy revisions that will facilitate equal opportunity and Title IX compliance for students and employees.
Coordinate and document training for Title IX personnel, decision-makers, appellate officers, and individuals facilitating informal resolutions. This includes members of the Student Conduct Hearing Boards.
Provide other diversity and equity services as deemed appropriate to the functioning of the OED unit.
Manage all aspects of the training and programming portfolio including, but not limited to, program administration, project management, communication, tracking, reporting and evaluation. This includes project management for and development of customized programs.
Enhance new and existing programs by conducting assessments, identifying additional topics, designing continuing education, etc.
Develop communication initiatives, including memos, websites, and customer service expectations. Create content for various communication channels. Provide consultation in the development, review, and distribution of internal and external communications.
Stay abreast of current and emerging regulatory obligations and develop plans of action related to training and programming with federal, state, and local laws and guidance including.
Research emerging trends in higher education and recommend equal opportunity and Title IX best practices for students, faculty, and staff as appropriate.
Perform other related duties as assigned including participating in investigations as needed.
