Description Gustavus Adolphus College is one of the nation's leading private liberal arts colleges serving over 2,200 students. JOB SUMMARY: The System Administrator and Networking Analyst serves as a key member of a dynamic team that guides, implements, and supports the College's networks, servers, and technology infrastructure. The ideal candidate would be highly self-motivated, possess a superior technical aptitude, and have the ability to successfully manage a number of complex projects simultaneously. Working closely with team members, campus departments, and outside vendors, the successful applicant would be responsible for developing creative solutions that augment the College's ever-changing technological landscape. The selected individual will report to the Director of Core Services. Work is conducted primarily on-site during normal business hours with some work-from-home flexibility. This position is full-time and exempt (salaried).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and configure virtual servers with hypervisors such as VMWare.
Perform setup and maintenance of server and storage hardware.
Collaborate on the design, management, and support of the campus network infrastructure.
Critical role in the planning, testing, and auditing of campus systems to ensure the efficacy of security measures.
Develop custom tools and scripts to automate or enhance routine tasks and maintenance.
Provide Tier 3 technical support for the Technology Helpline.
Offer guidance and expertise while participating in intradepartmental and interdepartmental meetings and committees.
Work collaboratively and supportively in a challenging and rewarding team-based environment.
Apply broad technical expertise to a variety of challenging technology projects across campus.
All other duties as assigned.
Prerequisites DESIRED ATTRIBUTES, SKILLS, AND EXPERTISE:
Demonstrated experience with Windows server, and operating systems deployment.
Knowledge of enterprise wired and wireless networking technologies.
Prior experience configuring, managing, and monitoring of virtual server infrastructure and storage in a mid-to-large environment.
Excellent organizational abilities, including initiative, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Inquisitive and determined mindset that is undaunted by new challenges.
Positive attitude and dedication to delivering exceptional customer-oriented results.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, performed in small group settings and via email, chat, etc.
