The responsibilities of this position include: leading the UMN Morris Concert Choir and small vocal ensembles; teaching courses in choral conducting and literature; teaching voice lessons; and offering other courses in music, such as arranging, diction, musicianship, vocal techniques, or an introductory course, consistent with the needs of the university and one's qualifications and experience.
We seek a specialist in Choral Conducting with an interest in teaching at a small, residential, liberal arts college that has been recognized nationally for its high academic quality. Doctorate in conducting or a related field preferred; ABDs or MA/MM/MMEs will be considered. Candidates with their doctorate by date of appointment will be appointed as lecturer/assistant professor, an ABD or MA/MM/MME will be appointed as teaching specialist. At least one year of college teaching experience is preferred. Evidence of excellence in teaching is essential.
