Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Summary: This position is within the laboratories of Martin Felices and Jeff Miller at the Masonic Cancer Research Center. The employee will work on testing methodologies to improve Natural Killer (NK) based immunotherapies through a variety of techniques; with a particular focus on flow based functional assays. Responsibilities will be carried out with instruction, guidance and direction from supervisor and include:
(50%) Functional assays aimed at testing NK cell functionality with a variety of treatments under a variety of settings; all readouts in this setting to be carried out by flow cytometry and IncuCyte imaging analysis
(20%) Data analysis and report generation using a variety of software packages (Flowjo, IncuCyte software, PRISM and Excel)
(20%) Animal Handling: Assisting lab personnel in mouse procedures including weaning, injections, imaging and harvests
(10%) Long-term sterile tissue culture and cell based analysis
This will be a 2 year contract position with possible extension.

Required: -BS/BA in Biology, Genetics or related field of science with relevant coursework on Immunology and Cellular Biology and 1 years of related experience or equivalent combination a combination of education and work experience to equal five (5) years. -Proficiency in cell culture
-Previous experience with Flow Cytometry preferred -Previous experience with Killing assays a big plus -Previous experience in a research setting with mouse models also preferable -Experience with IVs, IPs, SubQs, Bioluminescent imaging, and xenogeneic models a big plus -Computer experience: Experience with FlowJo and PRISM would be great -Wet lab experience: Knowledge of aseptic cell culture, PCR, ELISA -Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems -Good communication and technical writing skills are a big plus
