The Division of Health Policy and Management (HPM), one of four divisions in the University of Minnesota, School of Public Health, seeks an experienced Student Services professional to serve as the manager and first point of contact for its Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) Program, serving both residential and executive students. The MHA program is ranked #2 in the country and our programs delivery a high-touch, professional experience for our students. The Division offers full-time academic degrees, flexible degrees for working professionals, joint degrees, and non-degree options, including: Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), Master of Public Health (MPH) in Public Health Administration and Policy, and a Master of Science (MS) and a PhD programs in Health Services Research, Policy and Administration (HSRP&A). This Student Services Coordinator 2 position is responsible for coordinating the Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) program and handles all aspects of student services, residency, new program development coordination and management. The ideal candidate offers program coordination experience, we well as a depth of knowledge in academic policy. Recruitment and New Program Development 20%
Recruitment: Serve as one of the first-points-of-contact for prospective applicants, full time and executive;
Triage calls/emails from prospective students.
Work with team to execute excellent, high-touch admissions experiences;
Advise applicants on program requirements, program planning, registration and application procedures, as needed.
Meet with program leadership to develop and promote new program initiatives, and non-degree programming.
Lead efforts within the Division and School to usher new programs through various committees, processes and channels to bring to market.
Student Services 45%
Serve as the primary contact for all current students, including key resource for student issues.
Advise students about program requirements, University and SPH policies;
Manage and execute administrative processes to get program courses approved through Student Services channels (EPC);
upload courses and faculty into various University systems (CCS, ECAS);
Serve as point of contact for the Graduate Planning and Audit System (GPAS);
Serve as point person for student issues in PeopleSoft environment (Permission numbers, prerequisites, etc.).
Manage faculty advisor assignment process (including entering into PeopleSoft);
Work with financial team to coordinate scholarship distribution
Serve as primary liaison between SPH student services and MHA programs; proactive member of team to inform current and future policy decisions and effectively advise best practices.
Provide guidance to program leadership on SPH and University academic policies;
Work with team to create excellent student experiences and support career and professional development growth
Collaborate with leadership to ensure curricular and policy information is accurate on the web and in the Student Guidebook;
Register all Executive students for courses; create communications and supporting documentation for residential student to register for courses after their first semester;
Collaborate with colleagues to manage course evaluation process;
Represent programs at SPH Coordinating Council;
Collaborate with team to deliver high-quality on campus experiences for Executive students;
Coordinate with SPH to comply with accreditation requirements and deadlines.
Track applicant, admission, registration, benchmark, retention, and graduation data;
Lead and coordinate process for degree programs/petitions/waivers.
RESIDENCY and FELLOWSHIP COORDINATION 25%
Coordinate experiential learning experiences (2 credit residency course) for MHA students (between 35-44 students)
Identify, vet and build relationships with host sites and turn into operational and functioning host site for program.
Manage affiliation agreements via University process,
Maintain relationships with current host sites.
Instruct students on the required clerkship report and facilitate the review and approval of submitted reports.
Schedule, organize and co-lead the ongoing check in meetings with students.
Identify key pressure points in process and appropriate materials/speakers to speak at check in meetings.
Collaborate with leadership to manage employer relationships;
Manage fall fellowship and employment fair.
Lead the outreach efforts to organizations;
Build website presence,
Serve as key contact for all students regarding up to date information on available residencies and fellowships.
Create mechanisms to track organizational offerings.
Coordinate training with the SPH Career Center to delivery just in time training on resume review, interview skills and general job seeking strategies.
OPERATIONAL WORK 10%
Lead faculty onboarding process across all programs.
Work directly with program leadership to find ways to engage adjunct faculty in meaningful ways throughout the year.
Liaise with Human Resources to comply with SPH and University employee onboarding requirements
Represent program at SPH Coordinating Council
Manage and execute administrative processes to get program courses approved through Student Services channels, uploaded into University course catalog and available for student registration.
Coordinate with team to comply with accreditation requirements and deadlines

BA/BS with at least two years of experience or a combination of related education and work experience to equal six years.
