PRIMARY FUNCTION The primary functions for this position include: ordering, activating, invoice processing, monitoring, and maintenance of electronic resources; identifying, resolving, and communicating access issues related to electronic resources and; serving as a resource to other library staff.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 30% Acquisitions: Search for, create, and order electronic resources in Alma using locally created, Community Zone, or imported records. Communicate with the department Director to get licenses signed and processed in a timely fashion. Follow standard unit procedures for recording and filing fully executed license agreements. Activate new online access to portfolios and collections in Alma. Authorize and document payment of invoices in Alma. Contact cataloging to create and maintain bibliographic information.
30% Acquisitions Maintenance: Monitor new and established online access to portfolios and collections in Alma. Handle complex ordering and access issues requiring follow-up, communicating with selectors, vendors, Library Business Office, and other library staff as needed. Resolve access issues; process renewals and cancellations.
30% Troubleshooting: Assist liaisons, catalogers, LBO, and other library staff with their e-resource related questions. Define, research, and resolve complex e-resource acquisitions or access issues reported by staff and patrons. Determine the best course of action for resolution and communicate to staff and/or patrons. Serve as a resolver (and triager as needed) for TDX following the TDX Triage & Resolution Guidelines.
10% Work collaboratively with others in the Libraries by working on special projects as needed and participating in appropriate acquisitions related committees or groups. Train unit staff in functional tasks. Assist with the development of documentation and procedures. Participate in the testing process and analyze functionality following Alma release updates and other software or tools; report findings to staff as needed. Analyze acquisitions workflow and issues, looking for, and suggesting workflow improvements and efficiencies. Engage in continuing education in e-resource acquisitions and management by attending workshops, webinars, independent reading, or other activities.
Five years relevant library experience. College education can be substituted for experience on a year for year basis up to three years.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently and to work effectively as a team member.

Experience with integrated library systems, in particular Alma.
Proven knowledge in the area of e-resource acquisitions and/or e-resource management.
Demonstrated analytical skills and creativity, with an ability to utilize past experience and available data to assess, test and resolve technical problems.
Ability to adapt to change in a fast paced information resources environment, while relating to and interacting with staff and patrons outside the unit or library.
