Instructor responsibilities include all activities related to teaching and learning, including:
Instructional planning & curriculum development;
Providing instruction and learning opportunities in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings;
Student evaluation and assessment of student learning;
Student recruitment, retention, advising and placement;
Maintain student records;
Developing and maintaining relationships with clinical partners;
Program Review and planning;
Promoting diversity and cultural competence;
Maintaining professional skills and credentials through active participation in professional development organizations and events;
Participating in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events;
Other duties as assigned by the Dean of Health Sciences or Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience of direct patient care, one year must be in long term care.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Master’s degree in Nursing;
Previous teaching experience in nursing or nursing assistant programs;
Experience in curriculum development;
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in education and the workplace.
