Classes may be taught on-line or on-campus. Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Adjunct Instructors are responsible for teaching day, evening, and/or weekend lecture, lab and clinical assignments. Lab/Clinic assignments are located in long-term care centers in the Austin-Albert Lea-Owatonna local and surrounding communities. Other responsibilities include maintenance of professional expertise, college committees, curriculum development and evaluation within the Nursing Assistant/Home Health Aide Program. We are seeking instructors dedicated to excellence in teaching who desire to make a difference in the lives of our students. Teaching assignments may be located at all three Riverland campuses of Austin, Albert Lea, and Owatonna. The instructor may be assigned to teach in a traditional classroom, lab and clinical format. Classes meet during daytime hours, evening and weekends. The candidate must be able to work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and college laboratory assistants in lab settings, demonstrate knowledge of and experience in assessment of student learning outcomes, participate in department meetings, curriculum development, and college-wide committees, and maintain ongoing professional development activities.
Diploma or associate degree in nursing.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience of direct patient care, one year must be in long term care.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Current Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Community College Teaching Experience;
