This position is responsible for overall leadership, project planning, supervision and implementation of policies and procedures impacting advising services. The purpose of the position is to ensure efficient and effective operations and assist the Associate Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs (AVP) in promoting student success. The position is responsible for persistence and retention initiatives.
Bachelor's degree plus 2 years professional experience or equivalent experience.
Two years supervisory experience.
Three years' experience providing advising services to college students.
Evidence of strong and demonstrated commitment to equity and working with diverse populations.
Managerial/leadership skills and experience to include employee supervision, planning and creating compliance documentation.
Training and/or experience on persistence and retention issues and strategies in higher education.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Master's degree plus three years professional experience.
Experience in providing support services to underrepresented students and students with disabilities.
Knowledge of academic, occupational and career assessment instruments.
Ability to develop and implement complex processes.
Higher Ed experience and the understanding of the interrelationship of Student Services with other college programs and units.
Technical skills including a working knowledge of programs like Excel, ISRS, Hobsons, ImageNow, DARS and CMS systems.
