Applications are invited for a full-time, 12-month, Clinical Faculty, non-tenure track faculty position in the Physician Assistant Studies Program in Minneapolis, MN, to begin January 2021.
The Clinical Faculty position works closely with the Clinical Coordinator, Program Director, Associate Director and Medical Director to ensure the clinical phase of the educational program meets accreditation standards set forth by the ARC-PA. Primary responsibilities of Clinical Faculty include:
Prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion within the curriculum.
Represent the PA Program through active outreach to university, community, and clinical partners.
Work with the Clinical Coordinator and clinical phase staff to collaborate and communicate across all aspects of the program and curriculum.
Actively lead the clinical training site development team in securing clinical training placements.
Develop and deliver clinical rotation course curriculum, including learning objectives and outcomes, and evaluation/assessments.
Evaluate clinical sites and preceptors to ensure that they meet educational needs of students.
Assist the Clinical Coordinator to collect, analyze, and report large sets of clinical phase data for ongoing program assessment.
Advise, evaluate and teach PA students in all aspects of the program.
Participation in departmental, university and national PA service committee work.
Engage in scholarly activities related to clinical and/or PA education, including posters, presentations, and published literature.
Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies equivalent *
ARC-PA accredited PA program graduate
Current NCCPA certification, valid, unrestricted license to practice medicine in Minnesota or Wisconsin (or eligible to hold and maintain)
Minimum of 3 years full-time clinical experience
Ability to quickly learn and use various data and communication platforms
Strong administrative skills, including ability to write reports and professional correspondence
Ability to network, speak and interact effectively before groups of medical professionals, faculty, students, administrators, and key stakeholders
2+ years of educational experience in an academic setting
Prior classroom teaching or precepting experience
Strong quantitative and analytic skills
Familiarity with ARC-PA accreditation process and requirements
Doctoral degree or pursuit is preferred but not required
Underrepresented in medicine groups are highly encouraged to apply
