We are seeking 1-2 highly motivated Postdoctoral Fellows to join our studies in developing novel computational algorithms for analyzing single-cell genomic data in the Xiao Dong lab at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
Research Interest. Our lab is starting operating in March, 2021, and interested in two research topics: developing novel computational methods in single-cell omics; and application of single-cell omics in studying the biology of aging and age-related diseases. About the Role. You will lead a new research project in developing one or multiple computational algorithms for analyzing single-cell genomic data; and collaborate with wet-lab scientists in future research project(s) by applying the algorithms in single-cell genomic data about human aging and/or age-related diseases. You will present the progress of the project orally in intramural, national, and international meetings and conferences, and in writing in scientific manuscripts and grant progress reports.
Required Qualifications 1. Ph.D., or equivalent degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Sciences, Statistics, or Mathematics. 2. Demonstrated research experience as evidenced by a strong publication record. 3. Experience in developing statistic and/or machine-learning algorithms. 4. Strong computational skills covering Python and R programming languages.
Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience in single-cell genomics or multiomics. 2. Experience in constructing deep artificial neural network models 3. Strong problem-solving and data handling skills. 4. Excellent communication and writing skills.
