We are currently accepting applications for a postdoctoral associate position beginning on or after January 1, 2021.

This is a 1-2 year postdoctoral program that will prepare scholars for a successful academic position in the field of health equity research. We invite scholars from diverse backgrounds to apply. The ideal candidate will have a record of promising evidence of an innovative, productive research program as well as the ability to independently tackle one or more issues relevant to health equity. Successful candidates will conduct research to inform the development, implementation, and evaluation of structural and other forms of racism that advances health equity in individuals, families, and communities. Particular topics of interest include (but are not limited to):
• the measurement of structural racism; • racism and maternal and infant health outcomes; • the intersections of racism and medical education • police violence and health
The postdoctoral associate will conduct and collaborate on research projects and papers and write competitive research grants. There will also be teaching opportunities. The fellow will work under the direct supervision of Dr. Rachel Hardeman, Blue Cross Endowed Professor of Health and Racial Equity and will have opportunities to participate and have a leadership role in the Measuring and Operationalizing Racism to achieve Health Equity (M.O.R.H.E.) Research Lab (PI: Hardeman).
This is a two-year position, with the second year of funding being contingent on successful completion of the first. This is a 100% FTE position over a 2-year period using standard NIH postdoctoral position salary range; travel stipend to attend a national conference each year will also be made available.

Successful candidates will have some knowledge of and a sustained interest in developing and cultivating research methods framed in Reproductive Justice, Critical Race Theory and/or Community Based Participatory Research. Postdoctoral associates must have (or have completed by start date) the following requirements: • Graduated from a doctoral program with a focus in health policy, public health, demography, geography, sociology, or a closely-related discipline • Training and demonstrated excellence in mixed methods research including analysis of survey data, claims data, and/or qualitative data • Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous research efficiently in a fast-paced, policy-relevant, community-engaged environment. • Recently graduated individuals with a focus on racial equity are especially encouraged to apply
