The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota is seeking to hire a full-time tenure track/tenured or academic track faculty member that specializes in genetic epidemiology.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D., M.D. or M.D. /Ph.D., or an equivalent degree. Academic rank and appointment type will be commensurate with years of experience and accomplishments. Candidates are expected to demonstrate a strong record of research productivity and academic achievement in an analytical field, and the ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience analyzing complex data sets and 3+ years of programming experience in a high-level computer programming language.
The successful candidate will perform statistical genetic analysis for a range of research projects with an emphasis on cancer research. There will be valuable research opportunities through collaborations with the Institute for Health Informatics (http://healthinformatics.umn.edu/) and the Masonic Cancer Center (http://www.cancer.umn.edu) where the successful candidate can mine extensive retrospective data for correlations with clinical outcomes.
Opportunities to mentor and teach PhD, MD/PhD and medical students, residents and fellows are also available.
