The Assistant Athletic Trainer will assist the Head Athletic Trainer with the overall administration of the athletic training program. Primary sport responsibility will be supervision and management of athletic training services for sporting teams. Responsibilities will include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation; maintaining accurate medical records, practice and game/event coverage, including travel; pre-participation evaluations; coordinating medical insurance claims; and supervising student athletic trainers and volunteers. The selected candidate must have the ability to communicate effectively with the head athletic trainer, team physicians, head/assistant coaches, strength and conditioning coaches, and administrators. Additional duties may be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer.

The Department of Sports Medicine at North Carolina A&T State University exists to provide student-athletes with an opportunity to participate in intercollegiate athletics in the safest and healthiest manner possible. Our staff of certified athletic trainers and team physicians are responsible for the wellness of approximately 300 student-athletes.

Two (2) years of certified experience at the collegiate level. Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field. Must be BOC certified and possess NC athletic training licensure (or be eligible for licensure).
Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Medium strength is required to position student-athletes for examination. May assist student-athletes as needed, helping them on and off the exam table.
Must successfully pass a background screening.
Must hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation to/from work.
