Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
The Greven group in the School of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Minnesota/Twin Cities invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate position. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Martin Greven.
The Greven research group investigates the structural, electronic and magnetic properties of select quantum materials. This materials class embodies many of the most fundamental contemporary questions pertaining to the quantum behavior of interacting electrons. The research includes bulk single crystal growth, neutron and X-ray scattering as well as charge transport experiments.
We anticipate that the position will be for two years; the initial appointment will be for one year, with the possibility to extend to a second year pending satisfactory performance and the availability of funding.
75% Measurement and data analysis (neutron and synchrotron X-ray experiments at US and international facilities; in-house experiments, such as charge transport and magnetization). 25% Prepare and publish research articles, disseminate the research results via participation in conferences and workshops, help ensure that Professor Greven’s research lab is run properly, mentor students in Professor Greven’s group. Other duties of a similar scope as assigned.
