Research - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
Job Responsibilities: 10% Managing transgenic mouse colony, genotyping, and performing BSL-1 and BSL-2 research related to cardiovascular diseases.
10% Generation of non-surgical cardiovascular-disease animal models (mice and rats) and conduct BSL-1 and BSL-2 research using these animal models.
20% Generation and maintenance of mammalian stable cell lines and performing BSL-1 and BSL-2 research using cell models of cardiovascular diseases.
20% Designed and direct the scientific direction of the projects using molecular/cell biological techniques under the supervision of Principle Investigator.
30% assisting with the preparation of common chemical/buffers for lab members, lab organization, updating lab protocols, and assistance with regulatory inspection compliance.
10% Attending weekly laboratory meetings and meeting with Principle Investigators to discuss progress and to develop work-plans. Practice safe work habits at all times, be knowledgeable about and adhere to university policies and procedures and complete required training as necessary.

Required: BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years
Preferred: -Candidates with a B.S., and a combination of related education and work/volunteer experience with a minimum 6 months in cardiac mitochondrial research or a related field. -Experience in molecular/cell biological methods and/or in vivo cardiovascular disease models.
