The College of Health and Human Sciences is currently recruiting for a Director of Nursing, a 12-month, tenure track position with academic rank commensurate with education, experience, and expertise. The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredits the BSN program.
The Director provides leadership for the baccalaureate nursing program and is responsible for program planning, assessment, and evaluation. The position provides day-to-day academic and administrative leadership, supervision, and support for faculty and staff, ensures achievement of program outcomes, and creates an inclusive and safe workplace and learning environment. The Director will be responsible for strategic planning related to program and student success, the recruitment and retention of students, and the hiring and retention of faculty. The Director will ensure faculty development activities that support faculty advancement and program success. The will be responsible for curriculum and instruction development, implementation and evaluation, and overall program evaluation, including the student experience and placement of graduates. The Director will lead efforts to secure funding in support of the baccalaureate program and provide oversight for the management of resources and facilities. The Director has responsibility for maintaining strong, working relationships with all units within the university and with practice communities, taking full advantage of all opportunities to promote collaborations and establish partnerships to advance education, community engagement, and research.

Applicants are required to have an earned doctorate in nursing or related discipline; a minimum of 5 years of leadership/administrative experience in undergraduate and graduate education, and an established record of teaching, practice, scholarship, and service consistent with the rank of associate professor.
Desirable characteristics include experience leading organizations; developing and evaluating programs; curriculum development and evaluation; program evaluation, and accreditation; strategic planning and implementation; ability to work collaboratively with diverse faculty, staff, and students; experience in recruiting, supporting, and retaining faculty; ability to promote nursing research, education, and service; evidence of building partnerships at the local, state, national, and international levels; and, experience in fund-raising.
