Manages completion of non-capital and capital facility projects by developing, monitoring and managing project requirements. Oversees facility construction projects from start to finish. Performs day-to-day construction phase management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required: 1.Five or more years of professional experience in construction management/supervision, facilities management, architecture, facility engineering or a related field 2.Ability to establish and maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills with all project constituents. 3.Knowledge of modern methods and techniques as applied to the design, construction, operation and maintenance of institutional or commercial facilities 4.Ability to organize and manage many projects simultaneously 5.Have a strong sense of self-motivation and time management 6.Ability to be creative, flexible, and quality oriented 7.Knowledge of codes and standards pertaining to facilities, including Wisconsin Administrative Codes, and applicable IBC, NFPA, ASHRAE, ANSI, ASME standards, etc. 8.Knowledge of construction/remodeling project scope development and cost estimating, including labor and material costs. 9.Ability to design, layout, and prepare simplified plans and specifications for small projects. Ability to work collaboratively with architectural and engineering consultants during the design phase on large projects. 10.Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
Preferred: 1.An Associates or higher-level degree in construction management, facilities management, architecture, engineering, or related field from a recognized college or university is preferred. 2.Experience in higher education facilities is preferred. Experience with University of Wisconsin and/or Wisconsin DOA Division of Facilities Development and Management projects would be a plus. 3.Registration as an Architect or Professional Engineer is not required but would be a plus.
