Reporting to the Dean of Allied Health & Nursing, the instructor is responsible to apply their expertise to develop and deliver courses/programs so that students learn and reach their academic goals. The Instructor actively participates in department meetings and activities, in student recruitment for their courses/program, and in support of the general development of students and the College.
Associate degree and a graduate of a CAAHEP accredited program in surgical technology or an associate degree in nursing.
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified operating room experience as a practicing surgical technologist (scrub role) or an operating room nurse including scrub experience.
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Certified Surgical Technologist by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA formerly LCC-ST).
