The Department of Rahabilitation Medicine, Division of Adult Neuropsychology, at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time Rehabilitation Psychologist Clinical Researcher. This is a Tenure Track faculty position with the rank to be determined by the applicant's qualifications.
Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology with experience in health and rehabilitation psychology, or equivalent, with evidence of exceptional potential for independent funded research and clinical experience. The successful applicant will be expected to establish an innovative and collaborative clinical research program within the Department's spinal cord injury research consortium.
Job Duties/Responsibilities: • Conduct clinical research, including within the spinal cord injury • Originate research ideas • Obtain research funding through grant proposals (e.g. NIH funding) • Collect and analyze data • Write manuscripts for publications • Develop a clinical PhD education track within the Department • Supervise undergraduate, graduate students, medical residents/fellows, junior scientists, and postdocs working on related research projects • Hold a clinical appointment with M Physicians
Required Qualifications • Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, or equivalent • Experience in health and rehabilitation psychology • Strong record of presenting research results through publications and conference abstracts • Strong record of obtaining and managing federal research funding • Successful clinical practice experience, including psychological assessments, cognitive evaluations, and behavioral health interventions • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with others
Preferred Qualifications • Expertise in the study area of spinal cord injury • Health and Rehabilitation Psychologist clinical experience • Expertise with grant writing • Experience in education curriculum development and delivery
