Dr. Aslanidi’s lab has an opening for a Researcher 1 position with focus on the development of novel treatments for cancer and rare genetic diseases. Major responsibilities for this position are included but not limited by maintenance of mammalian cell culture; protein, DNA, RNA isolation from cell and animal tissues; basic lab techniques (PCR, WB, ELISA, etc.); plasmid isolation, digestion and agarose gel analysis; assist with animal work (injection, blood collection, post-mortal necropsy). Lab has a significant track record for research assistants to be accepted to graduate school.
Required Qualifications: • BA/BS or a combination of related education and work experience to equal four years; applied knowledge and skill to a recurring task or activity with emphasis typically on precision and timeliness of execution.
Preferred Qualifications: • Associate degree in the field of Animal Science, Veterinary Technology or General Biology. • 3+ year(s) of directly related experience in research lab or veterinary clinic (particularly verity of injection techniques). • General knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology. • Previous experience with mouse handling and manipulation will be considered as additional plus for candidate.
