Faculty in the School of Statistics in the College of Liberal Arts are expected to maintain an active research program in statistics, develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and contribute service appropriate for the rank of the appointment to the department, college, University, and profession.

The School of Statistics at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the area of statistics, to begin fall semester 2020 (August 31, 2020). We are committed to attracting candidates from historically under-represented groups knowing that diversity enriches the academic experience and provides a base for innovation and progress.
Appointment will be 100% time over the nine-month academic year (late-August to late-May) at the rank of tenure-track assistant professor, depending on qualifications and experience and consistent with collegiate and University policy.
Ph.D. in Statistics or a closely related field is required by start date of the appointment.
Candidates with an established research record and college/universitylevel teaching experience are preferred. Our student body is increasingly diverse (across gender, race/ethnicity, first generation college, income), and candidates with a demonstrated interest in teaching and mentoring a diverse student body are preferred.
Candidates will be evaluated according to the overall quality of their academic preparation and scholarly work, evidence of research ability, evidence of commitment to teaching students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds and skills as a teacher, and strength of recommendations.
