Research Support - Laboratory/Non-Laboratory, Staff/Administrative
30% - Implement recruitment strategies; educate participants about the study and assess cardiovascular status. Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the research process by offering suggestions and participating as an active member of the research team.
25% - Supervise daily data collection and entry by staff monitoring adherence to protocol. Collect, enter and organize data in support of research protocol
15% - Facilitate the successful implementation of the IRB approved protocol; assess study related needs, and provide input to facilitate implementation. Ensure study protocol and procedures are followed accurately
10% - Complete and maintain essential, source, and regulatory documents
5% - Maintain an inventory of stored serum and urine samples. Monitor ultra-cold freezers. Assemble and ship samples for various analyses and receive analyses.
5% - Attend training sessions
5% - Duties as assigned by supervisor
5% - Hire, train and supervise a team of staff members and students

BA/BS with at least 2 years of experience OR an equivalent combination of related education and work experience to equal 6 years.
Experience must include at least one year of direct patient contact and telephone interviewing in a medical research or other medical-related field
Experience directing and interacting effectively with diverse study participants
Must demonstrate effective interpersonal/human relations skills
Possess excellent communication skills; verbal and written
Experience using various software packages, Microsoft Excel, Word and Access
Demonstrated ability to learn multiple software programs
Experience following strictly detailed research protocol
Must be able to work unconventional hours as needed that include evening and occasional weekend.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, make decisions, problem solve and prioritize the management of clinical studies
Trained in the University of Minnesota PeopleSoft for purchasing and expense reports
Trained in good clinical practice, HIPAA, CITI
Experience with participant recruitment and retention preferred
Excellent organization skills with attention to detail
