The Security Officer position is responsible for maintaining safety and security for the members of the Carleton Community and the physical property of Carleton College. In addition, security personnel are the first call for help for medical and criminal emergencies and after-hour maintenance problems.
Other responsibilities the Security Officer position will be tasked with include first aid and medical treatment, assist in on-campus investigations, conducting fire and other emergency drills on a monthly basis, assist with Carleton’s mass notification system, building monitoring, and parking enforcement and traffic control.
This position works 10-hour shifts on an 8-week rotating schedule that includes weekends and holidays. Shift hours do no rotate but are subject to change to meet organizational needs. Periodically, there are opportunities to change schedule hours based on service years and/or shift preference. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), position with a rotating schedule. The hiring range for this position is $22-$23/hour dependent on qualifications.
