This position is responsible for the overall operational excellence and brand image of the CWU Panda Express. They provide leadership, direction, training, and customer service standards to all levels of staffing for their assigned area. Along with management duties this position will also provide daily oversight of staff supervision and leadership. Also ensures the efficient operations of the unit through the enforcement of Panda Express policies, procedures and standards. Responsible for ensuring operational adherence to federal and local safety and sanitation standards and to Panda Express' core values: Proactive, Respect/Win-Win, Growth, Great Operations, and Giving. In addition, they identify and address customer needs and participate in the resolution of customer complaints.
An Associate Degree in food service management, nutritional care or related field OR
Two years of college with major course work in restaurant or hotel management, or closely related field, OR
High School Diploma or GED Certificate, with three years of relatable experience. OR
Applicable combination of education and/or experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position
Ability to cook foods from scratch using a variety of cooking techniques.
Knowledge of operation and production kitchen equipment.
Three years of work experience as a lead or supervisor in a food service operation.
Valid Washington State driver’s license.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Ability to obtain valid WA State Food Handler’s permit within 30 days of initial hire date.
Must be able to obtain SERVSAFE Certification within 6 months of initial hire date.
Must pass Panda Express Cooking Test annually.
Must be able to work flexible schedule, including weekends.
Experience cooking and leading other kitchen staff in a large-scale food service operation.
Food production experience within a university or hospitality driven environment.
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
