The Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geo- Engineering at the University of Minnesota seeks applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the general area of structural engineering. We are particularly interested in applicants with strong core fundamentals that allow them to easily move across disciplinary boundaries to work collaboratively to solve complex problems through department, university, and national research opportunities. The position is expected to be at the rank of assistant professor, although exceptional candidates at all ranks will be considered.
We are seeking individuals with strong academic education and training in structural engineering, structural mechanics, or structural materials. Candidates with research interests in any area of structural engineering are encouraged to apply. Candidates will be expected to initiate and maintain a strong externally-funded research program. Teaching responsibilities will include existing undergraduate and graduate courses in structural engineering, as well as the opportunity to develop new courses in specialty areas. An earned doctorate is required at the time of the appointment.
