The Colon and Rectal Surgery Division within the Department of Surgery at the University of Minnesota is seeking applications for surgeons seeking an academic career in colorectal surgery at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor on the Academic or Tenure track. Rank and track will be determined based on the qualifications and experiences of the selected candidate.
Clinical activities in specialty area
Development of a basic, clinical, or outcomes research program with an expectation of development of a sustainable program with extramural funding
Teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows
Full participation in departmental activities including but not limited to grand rounds, CEU quality meetings, Promotion and Tenure committee meetings, and faculty meetings

MD degree or equivalent
Must be certified by the American Board of Surgery
Must be board-eligible or board certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery
Must have or be able to obtain a Medical License in the state of Minnesota
Demonstrated commitment to providing quality and compassionate patient care
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and collegiality with staff and partners
Demonstrated commitment to teaching and research
Demonstrated expertise in minimally invasive surgery techniques
An advanced degree and experience in clinical research
Demonstrated record of basic, translational, or clinical research
