Head Athletics Trainer The Athletics Department at Whittier College seeks a Head Athletics Trainer.
Hours: 40 hours per week Exempt Status: Exempt Full Time/Part Time status: Full Time Salary Range: $54,000-$55,000 annual; Salary will commensurate with experience, skills, and knowledge.

Location/Department: Whittier College (Main Campus)/Athletics
Responsibilities: The Head Athletic Trainer is responsible for coordinating all aspects of the Whittier College athletic training program. This includes overseeing injury prevention, evaluation, management, and treatment of athletic injuries for all 22 Whittier College Intercollegiate sports teams. The Head Athletic Trainer will supervise short and long term rehabilitation programs for athletic injuries, as well as develop and conduct the education and counseling needs of student athletes, athletic department coaches, and athletic department staff members. The Head Athletic Trainer will oversee all athletic related health care administration in consultation with the supervision of the team physician(s) and other qualified medical personal. The Head Athletic Trainer will be required to plan, supervise, hire, organize, budget, record keep, coordinate insurance, prepare reports, and implement educational programs designed to enhance the health, safety and welfare of the Whittier College student athletes. The Head Athletic Trainer will abide by the rules and regulations established by Whittier College, the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC), and the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Whittier is a member of the NCAA Division III program and SCIAC conference.
Position Specifications and Requirements: Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of two years athletic experience required with a preference in experience at the collegiate level. BOC, First Aid and CPR certification required; a strong commitment to the student athlete concept and a working knowledge of NCAA and SCIAC rules and regulations. The ideal candidate will possess experience working with diverse constituencies and sensitivity to multi-cultural issues.
