The Institute of Linguistics in the College of Liberal Arts at the University of Minnesota occasionally needs Adjunct Assistant Professors (non-tenure-track) to teach core courses. This does not constitute a posting for vacancies, but establishes a pool of applicants should openings occur for the 2019/20 academic year. Applicants will be selected from this pool on an as-needed basis through academic year. Appointments may be renewable based on need, funding, and performance.
Adjunct Assistant Professors will be expected to develop and teach introductory and/or upper division undergraduate courses and/or graduate-level courses, hold office hours and advise students, engage in an active program of scholarly research, and perform service and outreach appropriate for the rank of appointment.
PhD or equivalent terminal degree in linguistics (completed by start of appointment) and three years of teaching experience in a college or university.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching.
Commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching and advising.
Distinguished program of research.
