Primary Duties: Duties may include but are not limited to:
60% Department receptionist and general office assistance
Answer department phone and greet departmental visitors and guests Schedule meetings and rooms, both requests from anyone for departmentally controlled rooms and requests from faculty and staff for room reservations. Resolve problems related to conflicting requests. Generate work orders for facilities or IT/phones Calendaring for departmental and individual calendars General clerical support Simple event planning and itineraries, including ordering food for departmental events Receiving assignments, monitoring performance and assigning tasks for student workers, Setting priorities and resolving procedural issues related to student work assignments. Participate in departmental meeting process (scheduling, agenda, minutes)
20% EFS Financial System processing
Input supply orders Prepare expense reports for faculty as requested, including checking data for accuracy and completeness PCard reconciliation
20% Special projects in support of research, teaching and service
Updating and formatting documents, presentations, and spreadsheets for faculty as needed As requested. Examples could include updating publicity materials, promotion and tenure materials, faculty annual review compilations, maintaining and evaluating financial reporting.

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED and two years of related office and administrative experience. Training/Education may be substituted for some of the years of experience. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, calendaring and email software.
Preferred Qualifications: Intermediate skill level in Mircrosoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint University of Minnesota experience EFS training and access Canvas training
