Duties/Responsibilities The Department of Radiology at the University of Minnesota seeks a scientist to join a collaborative research program which exploits MRI and fMRI methods to characterize brain tissue during healthy aging, Alzheimer’s disease, diabetes and other neurological conditions. The research will be conducted at the University's world renowned Center for Magnetic Resonance Research (CMRR), in collaboration with various colleagues from CMRR and from other institutions, including the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Responsibilities will include MRI data acquisition and processing in human subjects, generation of quantitative parametric maps and functional MRI maps, critical analysis of data quality, data storage and organization in databases, preparation of summary of results, preparation of manuscript and presentations, interaction with collaborators, mentoring other students, and pursuit of research and other scholarly activities.
Required: • PhD in physics, biophysics, biomedical engineering, computer science, mathematics, or similar fields, or MD/PhD • Established experience in MRI technology, MR data analysis and software programming (Matlab) • Established experience with common software for analyzing MRI data • Track record of scientific publications
Preferred: • Strongly prefer experience in analyzing functional connectivity data • Experience in analyzing diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) data • Experience in analyzing cerebral blood flow (CBF) data • Experience in analyzing data obtained with human connectome imaging protocols • Capable of co-registering MRI data with MRS data acquired from same regions of interest • Strong commitment to team science, and multi-departmental collaboration • Experience with developing novel and efficient processing pipelines
