The Department of Neurology at the University of Minnesota Medical School in Minneapolis, MN, has an opening for one academic track full-time stroke faculty and one academic track full-time neurocritical care faculty. Vascular neurology board-eligible or board-certified neurologists who have strong interests in clinical research and teaching are encouraged to apply as we expand our combined division of stroke and neurocritical care. We are the academic department providing medical education for the medical students, neurology residents, and fellows at the University of Minnesota Medical Center, a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center. Stroke and neurocritical care services are also provided to a second Comprehensive Stroke Center, Fairview Southdale Hospital, in addition to the Minneapolis VA Hospital and a telestroke network which supports the Twin Cities metropolitan area and rural Minnesota. The Department of Neurology is an academic department with more than 50 full-time faculty, a residency program training 7 residents per year, and 7 fellowship programs including: an ACGME-accredited vascular neurology fellowship (3 fellows/year), an ACGME-accredited endovascular surgical neuroradiology fellowship (1-2 fellows/year, including neurologists), a UCNS-accredited neurocritical care fellowship (1 fellow/year), and a NIH Stroke Network Research Fellowship (1 fellow/year). The stroke and neurocritical care program is involved in locally and nationally conducted clinical trials with dedicated staff to support research activities.

Candidates must be graduates of an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and vascular neurology fellowship or neurocritical care fellowship; and be board certified or board eligible. Visa sponsorship is available.
